Editorial Policy

OAC Stories is committed to the highest standards of journalism and storytelling. This Editorial Policy outlines the principles and practices that govern all content published on our platform. It applies to staff writers, contributing editors, freelance contributors, and any individual whose work appears under the OAC Stories banner.

Independence & Integrity

OAC Stories maintains full editorial independence. Our editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of journalistic merit, public interest, and adherence to our editorial standards. Advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners have no influence over our editorial content. Sponsored or branded content, when published, is clearly labeled and distinct from editorial content.

Accuracy

We are committed to publishing information that is accurate, verifiable, and fairly represented. Before publication, all factual claims are subject to review. Writers are expected to:

  • -Provide verifiable sources for factual claims
  • -Distinguish clearly between fact and opinion
  • -Not misrepresent quotes or take them out of context
  • -Promptly disclose if they believe an error has been made

Fairness & Balance

OAC Stories seeks to represent diverse perspectives fairly. When covering contested topics or individuals, we make good-faith efforts to seek comment or response from all relevant parties before publication. We strive to give voice to a broad range of communities, backgrounds, and viewpoints.

Corrections Policy

We take errors seriously. If a factual error is identified after publication, OAC Stories will:

  • -Promptly review the claim and verify the correction
  • -Issue a clear, transparent correction notice at the top of the affected article
  • -Preserve the original content with the correction clearly noted, rather than silently editing
  • -Log the correction in our public corrections archive

To report an error, contact us at [email protected].

Conflicts of Interest

All contributors must disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest related to their assignments. Staff writers and editors are prohibited from covering topics or individuals with whom they have a personal or financial relationship that may compromise objectivity. Any potential conflict must be reported to the Managing Editor prior to assignment.

Sources & Attribution

OAC Stories believes in transparency with readers about sourcing. We use anonymous sources only when the information is of significant public interest and cannot be obtained on the record. Any use of anonymous sourcing must be approved by the Managing Editor. We do not fabricate sources or quotes.

Opinion & Commentary

Opinion pieces, personal essays, and commentary are clearly distinguished from news reporting and fact-based feature journalism. The views expressed in opinion content belong to the author and not to OAC Stories as an institution.

Editorial Complaints

Readers who have concerns about our editorial standards may contact us at [email protected]. We respond to all substantive complaints within 10 business days.
